Airport taxi & transfer calculator
Choose an airport. Each page shows distance, drive time and price to every reachable destination — computed from real road data (OpenStreetMap). 25 airports.
Quick answer: What a taxi from the airport into town costs comes down almost entirely to distance: Friedrichshafen is 5 km from the terminal (about 16–19 €), while Rostock is 45 km (about 98–127 €). The table compares all 25 airports by road distance, drive time and estimated taxi cost.

Watch out for these airport names
Several airports are marketed under the name of a city that is a long way away. That is not a detail: budget for a short taxi ride and you will either pay many times over or miss your connection.
- Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) — The airport is called "Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden" but sits near Rheinmünster — Baden-Baden is about 16 km away, Karlsruhe roughly 42 km.
- Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN) — "Frankfurt-Hahn" is not near Frankfurt — it sits in the Hunsrück hills, roughly 125 km from the city.
- Memmingen Airport (FMM) — Memmingen is often marketed by airlines as "Munich West" or "Allgäu Airport" — but Munich is roughly 120 km away.
- Weeze Airport (NRN) — The airport is marketed as "Düsseldorf-Weeze" but sits on the Lower Rhine near the Dutch border — some 80 km from Düsseldorf.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a taxi from the airport into town cost?
Almost entirely down to distance. The shortest run is Friedrichshafen at 5 km (about 16–19 €); the longest is Rostock at 45 km (about 98–127 €). The table above compares all 25 airports — only the meter is ever binding.
How are taxi fares set in Germany?
Not nationally, but by each municipality through a tariff ordinance: a base fare plus a per-kilometre rate, with a time rate for standing still. In 2026 base fares run about €4.00–5.90 and per-kilometre rates €1.80–2.80 — which is why the same distance costs noticeably different amounts city by city.
Which airports are named after a city they are not near?
Four cases: Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB), Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN), Memmingen Airport (FMM), Weeze Airport (NRN). Frankfurt-Hahn is roughly 120 km from Frankfurt in the Hunsrück, Weeze some 75–80 km from Düsseldorf, and Memmingen about 110 km from Munich. If you land at one and need the city in its name, plan on the coach or train — a taxi over that distance runs into three figures.
Can I book a taxi or transfer here?
No. routefare.eu works out distance, drive time and the expected fare range from open road data (OpenStreetMap/OSRM) and the applicable taxi tariffs. It is a calculator, not a booking service — you book at the rank, by phone, or via an app.
