Travelling to the airport costs the same as travelling from it — the distance is identical and the tariff has no sense of direction. One difference matters: book ahead for the outbound leg, since no taxi is waiting at your door. Add a buffer for traffic; the times below assume clear roads.

Inside the licensed area the meter governs — the municipal tariff is binding and the driver may not charge above it. A German taxi tariff has three parts: a base fare when you get in, a per-kilometre rate for the distance driven, and a time rate for standing still.
